When you need some vacation ideas near Dallas, explore the area around Lake LBJ. It is the gateway to Beavers Bend State Park, an area with a great combination of natural beauty and small-town charm. While in town, try hiking, canoeing on the lake, and visiting the many cozy cabins. If you have time, you can go to the zoo, a national park, or explore the city’s art scene.

Day trips are plentiful in Dallas and its surrounding areas. Within an hour’s drive, you can visit a State Park, a National Park, or a charming small town. If you have more time, you can plan a weekend trip to one of the many beautiful destinations within four hours of Dallas. You can also head south to the beautiful beaches of the Gulf Coast and explore the history of Texas in one of the state’s oldest cities.

Another popular attraction in Dallas is the Eye, an installation by Chicago-based artist Tony Tasset. It’s a great photo opportunity and located near the Joule Hotel.
